Hear Me Roar

In December 2023, I realised I needed a hobby. Maybe a wee podcast, I thought. I mentioned it to my friend (Marie Thom aka Midlife Dramas in Pyjamas) over cocktails, and a few hours later, we'd hatched a plan. We were excited. We were determined. We spent a year being too busy and arguing over the name and branding. And then we got our shizzle together and created something a tad bigger than a hobby.

I learned to edit sound and video, and despite my best efforts to mangle the whole thing, we came out the other end looking and sounding quite professional! You can find us at hearmeroarhere.com or through our social links below.

Inspirational Stories From Midlife & Beyond

Our guests come from all walks of life, the common thread being that they've gone out there and done something different. Series one includes a former MP who became a first time mum at 50, a BBC radio presenter who faced misogyny, pay inequity and more than one slap on the backside as she climbed the career ladder, and a Come Dine With Me contestant who made us cry with laughter.

In series two, we hear from a pensioner who has been raising funds for a dementia charity for decades - including by wing-walking in her seventies! There's also the British civil servant who writes Iceland's Eurovision commentary and a Paralympic gold medallist.

If you have an inspirational story, we would love to hear from you. Email us at hearmeroarhere@gmail.com
